John is one of the founders of the Value Group Direct, where he provides a quantitative perspective on marketing strategy and campaign performance. He offers his own unique perspective, with extensive experience on the client side providing the base for his advertising agency career.
Advertising Agency Management
Previously, John served as President of TPG Direct (Omnicom), a direct response agency specializing in insurance. He led TPG Direct’s relationship with major insurance clients, including MetLife, Farmers, Geisinger Health Plan and 21st Century Insurance.
Insurance Company Management
John was SVP in charge of P&C insurance at Colonial Penn Group, where he managed insurace programs for AARP and other clients. He later joined National Liberty Corporation, now AEGON Special Markets, where he was SVP responsible for marketing and overall management of multiple insurance businesses.
John is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and remains a fan. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Linda is one of the founders of Value Group Direct and provides the creative perspective while also overseeing the management and growth of new and existing client relationships. She will tell you that she is the Ying and John is the Yang, and together they provide their clients with a strong balance of quantitative and creative perspective on marketing strategy and campaign performance.
Linda’s background includes marketing and management positions at Topak Marketing, Inc., CIGNA, QVC, Continental American Life Insurance Company and National Liberty Marketing, now AEGON Special Markets.
As Senior Vice President of Topak Marketing, Inc., Linda provided the leadership and direction for all association clients. Her understanding of the nuances of broad market and association marketing strategies, offer approach, and messaging that resonates with prospects and members, places her above her direct response marketing peers.
Linda speaks regularly as a subject matter expert at numerous industry events. Active in the leading affinity and association marketing organization, PIMA, she served two terms on the Board of Directors. She was recognized with the PIMA Presidential Distinguished Service Award in 2008.
Angela’s career, like many at VGD spans both the client and the agency side. She knows through her own experience what clients need and what is important to them. Her clients will tell you that Angela’s enthusiasm and passion for marketing strategy comes through in everything she does. While she loves developing the perfect media mix for her clients, her true passion is DRTV.
Prior to joining VGD, Angela was Vice President of Strategy and Client Development for Mercury Media. During her time on the client side she worked at e-commerce Company, where she served as the Director of Offline Marketing. Angela got her start in marketing years prior as Account Director for TPG Direct (Omnicom). It was here that she first began developing and managing direct response campaigns for insurance and financial services companies such as AIG, NYLife and Matrix Direct.
She will tell you that it was her time on both sides of the table that enable her to understand firsthand the challenges her clients face when it comes to planning for growth. She brings this unique perspective with her when developing strategies and campaigns for her clients.
Angela is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where she received her degree in Communications.
